About the instructors:

DAVID SIGEL grew up in Worcester, MA and spent many of his childhood summers on Cape Cod. After receiving his B.F.A in painting from Boston University, Sigel found himself with two passions, one as a painter and the other as an art teacher. He has been teaching for over fifteen years; at Gould Academy in Bethel, Maine, The Fessenden School in West Newton, Massachusetts, and currently, he serves as the chair of the Visual Art Department at The Episcopal Academy in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania. Sigel and his wife, sculptor and educator, Hilary Hutchison, come back to the Cape each summer to spend time in Cotuit where David can often be seen out with his field easel capturing the landscape.

HILARY HUTCHISON grew up in Southern New Jersey. Her professional experience has included membership with the Kingston Gallery in Boston, commissioned works for Tufts University and the The Fessenden School, and various solo and group exhibitions. She received her B.F.A and M.F.A degrees in sculpture from Boston University. Hutchison currently resides outside of Philadelphia where she continues to maintain a studio and teach 3-D Design and Sculpture at the Episcopal Academy. She is the co-founder of the Summer Art program, along with her husband, educator and painter, David Sigel. Hutchison’s work can be seen on her website: www.hilaryhutchison.com.
